Sometimes, a project may not include brand-specific information that is essential to gather before shooting. We have outlined below the right kinds of questions to ask clients to make sure you capture the brand vision before shooting. Some of this information may already be included in the project.
When you apply to a project, please read the entire creative details tab carefully first, and make sure not to ask something that is already in the project's creative details unless you need to clarify.
General Information to Gather for All Projects
Who is your target audience?
How should the content feel to the viewer?
Where will the content be used? This helps give an idea of how to crop/frame.
If studio: do you have color requirements for the background?
If natural environment: what kind of setting should the photos/videos be captured in?
For Projects with Products
If not specified already, which products will be included, and are there specific positioning requirements for each product?
Are there any products that should not be shown together?
For Projects with Models
If not specified already, ask about whether or not there are specific requirements for the kinds of models to be included.
Is there a certain type of wardrobe I should keep in mind for the models?
For Video (Full Edit) Projects
What kind of post-production editing is required?
If text needs to be overlaid: what font and colors should be used?
Does your video need any music or voiceover?
If music is required: will you provide the music, or would you prefer that I source it?
If voiceover is required: will you provide a script, or would you prefer that I create a script?
If voiceover is required: should there be closed captions?
